Are You Building a Glass House in USANA?
What businesses have more stores or franchises than customers?
I can't think of any...except for the network marketing industry.
Stop and think about this for a minute, because this concept could be the difference between building a glass house with USANA and building a long term income.
Here's a very simple question that you will give the answer: Do you have more Preferred Customers or Associates in your organization?
If you answered more Associates, then you may be building a glass house.
Many leaders and training courses around the MLM industry never mention customers as part of building a business. If customers are mentioned, it's usually in an after-the-fact manner to get someone if they first turn down the business opportunity. It's all about "recruiting, recruiting, and recruiting in order to build a big income." Yes, recruiting is an important component to building a USANA business, but so is getting customers!
"But my downline are my customers!" No, they are not. They are your salesforce. What happens when that person stops building or doesn't make money, do they stay on the products? Usually no. If they are taking the products with the hopes of making money, then they are not real customers! A real customer takes the product because they want the benefit of the product.
Now I'm not saying that one cannot build a successful business through just recruiting. But building a business with a strong customer focus is much more duplicatable then a business focused recruiting. I've trained my fair share of Associates and I can tell you that it's much easier to teach someone how to sell a RESET kit then it is to sell the business opportunity. As new Associates sell products and get customers, they gain confidence and start believing in themselves and that they really can build a strong USANA business! This new confidence then comes across to people and helps with recruiting new Associates.
Yet, I talk with other Associates around USANA who only focus on recruiting and they complain to me about having little duplication and that their new Associates are quitting within the first 60 days. One of the main reasons this happens is because people are not having success with the "recruit, recruit, and recruit", mentality. Very few people can do that.
You can keep doing that (which in my mind is the equivalent of punching the wall trying to get into the next room rather then using the door) or you can build with "business common sense" by getting customers.
To Jason Wells and I, having more customers than Associates is just "business common sense," but to many people, it's a paradigm shift. If you want to incorporate "business common sense" into your USANA business and not build a glass house, then do these two things:
You've heard the quote, "People who live in a glass house should not throw stones." It's good advice. Here's the problem when it comes to glass houses and your USANA business: Someone will throw a stone (more likely dozens and dozens of stones) at USANA at some point in the future. Most likely they will not be directed at your personally, but USANA as a whole.
In my 10 year career with USANA, I've been through two experience where people didn't just throw stones, but rather 500 pound boulders at USANA. USANA survived, but I saw many leaders' glass houses shatter into thousands of pieces, along with their income!. Quite a few of those people had to go back into the work force or move onto something else. Fortunately, I built a solid USANA business. My business got some dings and dents, but that was about it.

Is the Traditional Health & Freedom Presentation Outdated?
I have a confession to make: I haven't sat through an entire Health and Freedom Presentation, as a presenter or attendee, in about 5 years. I find the traditional Health and Freedom Presentation boring.
Your potential business Associates are probably finding it boring too.
It's not because I find USANA boring or anything like that. No! It's because my attention span has decreased dramatically (Thank you YouTube and Facebook!)
The Internet is making people selfish. I don't mean that in a bad way. People are getting more and more accustomed to getting exactly what they want, when they want, and having the ability to pause, fast forward, rewind or jump to something else with the tap of a finger on the mouse.
Think about your own attention span. What's the reaction you have when you see a long video or webinar to watch? If you're like me, you often think, "Wow, that's a long one.... I'll come back to this later." And then rarely come back.
How often do you see people texting or playing a game on their smartphone while attending a live presentation, conference or in a meeting? You see it all the time! I'll admit, I do it more then I should.
You can either fight the trend or go with the trend. Trust me, you don't want to fight the trend because that is an uphill, losing battle. Don't believe me, take a brief look at all the businesses throughout history that didn't adapt to the trends.
Here's the good news: USANA corporate is doing a lot right with the Health & Freedom Solution and its idea of customization. This is really impressive to me because very few MLM companies are doing this. Hats off to USANA for this.
Here's the bad news: A lot of USANA Associates are not using it properly. On a regular basis, I talk with USANA Associates who are developing Powerpoint presentations that are 50+ slides long and trying to get a local team going by setting up a weekly hotel meeting. People still do this because this what they've heard for years or from MLM leaders who have been retired for 10+ years are telling them.
I'm not knocking people's commitment and enthusiasm (I love it!). However, you would get such a greater return on your effort if you adapted your business building techniques to match the trends. People no longer want to come to a weekly hotel meeting. To be frank, it's pointless when all the information is available on YouTube. Let's be honest, does a professionally done video of Dr. Wentz speaking or me telling the story work better in conveying Dr. Wentz's vision? The Dr. Wentz video does, by a long shot!
Now, I'm not saying you never meet with a person. You just do it in a smart way by utilizing the resources on the Internet. Is it easier for someone's schedule to review 30 minutes of info from their computer (or smartphone) or drive across town on a Tuesday night to sit through an 1.5 hour presentation? Use the resources online, then meet with the interested people afterwards for a cup of coffee to answer questions and give more detail.
This trend is one of the reasons we created the Introduce Step in our communication process. It takes into account the trends, people's diminishing attention span, their desire for personalized information, and all the resources available on the Internet!
If you have not gone through our Communication Training, then do so ASAP! You can find all the details at www.Integritas-Group.com/Communication.
Be sure to check out our website, www.MyBusinessBriefing.com, that is designed to Introduce USANA with all these trends in mind. Grab an access code to check it yourself or watch the YouTube video for a quick overview on it.
I'll ask you again, are you fighting the trend or going with the trend?
Not sure what an access code is? Then check out www.Integritas-Group.com/Questions.
Really understanding and implementing this concept of Introducing requires a paradigm shift, especially for your USANA veterans out there. If you want one-on-one help implementing it, then check out our mentoring and coaching resources.

Integritas Group Mobile Update: Build USANA on the Go!
Recently, we have rolled out a series of updates that substantially revise both the external and internal interfaces of the system.
While you likely will not notice much difference on a PC or similar device, these updates provide a significant upgrade to the system on mobile devices. The interface will now adapt itself to your device, allowing it perform (nearly) all system function in a more useful and accessible manner than before the upgrade.
Some points of note:
- You will find the navigation bar collapsed behind a standard 3-bar menu icon (
). Tap/click the icon to access the navigation options.
- Similarly, content displayed on page sidebars (example, the Contact page search filter) is collapsed behind an expand icon (
).
- You will find all content, images, videos, and forms newly adapted for your mobile display, with better layout and visual support.
- Need to call a contact? Just View their details on your phone and tap the link on their phone number to dial it.
Given the broad reach of the updates necessary to achieve this level of mobile support, there may be some glitches in the interface that we missed in testing. If you come across something that is inaccessible or doesn't look right, please let us know.
One exception: we know the calendar popup button is currently not displayed on the Contact/Customer/Team page mobile sidebar. That is by design as the calendar tool isn't playing nice with us on those devices. It is still accessible for creating contact appointments, and will be back on the sidebar when we can get it to appear in a usable format.

Prospect Question: What is the abbreviation of USANA?

Enrolling People in USANA: What You Need to Do and How to Do It.
I think one of the areas where people fail to close people and enroll people into USANA is that they complicate the process, don't understand who they are speaking with, don't ask for the sale, or ask for the sale incorrectly.
1 BC v. 3 BC
The first hiccup in the closing process is the need to explain at length the difference between 1 BC and 3 BC. People end up explaining the compensation plan in detail and you end up losing people.
Watch the video I have here to understand how I explain the packages and the difference between the 1 BC and 3 BC. This isn't perfect, I am not some master communicator or speaker, but it gets the job done.
Personality Types
Not understanding the different personality types (controller, promoter, analytical, and nurturing types) and how they need to be handled and what their motivators are throughout the USANA sponsoring & communication process can make this process so much harder on you than it needs to be.
I am not going to spend a lot of time on this here, but as an Integritas Group member, you will want to review the personality type part of the USANA communication training.
Do You Want To Get Started in USANA?
If you don't ask for the close, you'll never know the prospect's interest level and you will never learn what their objections are and you won't get a "yes" unless you ask the question. You want to hear "yes" a lot when you ask the question "Do you want to get started in USANA?" Don't You? :)
Not Asking For the Close Correctly
I actually give the exact word tracks I use in the Communication training on closing for all of the personality types. If you don't know this by memory right now, then go to the training and download the resources and memorize it now.
You probably want to go through the Closing section of the training once again to make sure you understand how to use those word tracks and the theory behind it.
Conclusion
I was going to write this big long blog article on the subject of enrolling people in USANA, then I realized the questions we get on this surrounds trouble people have with this process, so I started to think what are the common mistakes and I write about those, then I realized that we have training that covers each area. So why not cover the mistakes and point people to ways to correct it? Sometimes I can be smart. :)
The pitfalls of enrolling people in USANA comes to down to not knowing the material, explaining the compensation plan when most people don't need to know it or understand it before they join, not asking for the sale, and not knowing how to ask for the sale. That's it.
If you are having trouble closing people in USANA, then go through this blog post several times and find what you are missing.

USANA Marketing Case Study: Integritas Group Member, Vi Klassen
Vi Klassen, Integritas Group member wanted a website branded to a specific niche of people who are looking to start a business.
Before Vi found USANA, Vi had experience with small business and had some success and failure and what she learned from that experience as well as her time with USANA were key principles that she learned. Had Vi known these principles when she ventured on the business road, she would have saved herself a lot of time and money.
Vi purchased a Custom Website from Integritas Group and has been staying "on task" with the required work for the website by staying accountable with our Road to Gold Focus Groups.
Vi wrote an eBook and is going to be generating leads with two strategies:
1) People will buy the eBook looking for information how to choose the right business.
2) People who aren't quite ready to buy can download a portion of the eBook for Free by providing their name, email address, and phone number.
Both of these strategies will generate qualified leads who are familiar with Vi, so when she contacts them the Connect step of the Communication training will be a lot easier.
Here is a sample of her website:
Now, our staff at Integritas Group did the design and setting up the website, but Vi wrote a lot of the content and wrote the eBook.
So find Vi on our Integritas Group Facebook and let her know you saw that she was featured in this article!

Manny Pacquiao: Did You Know He Chose USANA?
If you are big sports fan (even if you're not a big boxing fan), you have heard of Manny Pacquiao. Manny is one of the most known boxers in the world and the anticipation of a boxing deal and fight between Manny and Floyd Mayweather has made both of those boxers the most known boxers in the world. This would be a $100 million plus revenue fight even in a sport that isn't very popular these days.
What is the significance of this and USANA? Well, as a USANA associate and leader, it sure brings a lot of attention to our incredible product when an athlete and gentleman like Manny Pacquiao has chose USANA's products.
There a lot of reasons why USANA products are being used by over 600 elite athletes.
For me personally, I have used USANA products for over 10 years and last year, I turned 40 years old. At my age, I still play volleyball at an elite level (I have a standing vertical leap of 36" and when I am hitting a volleyball, I am well over 40"). This is unique in the sports world, but unheard of for a 40 year old. I cannot say that USANA products are the only reason for my current performance (for legal requirements laid down by the FDA), but I can say that my exercise program, my healthy way of eating, yoga, and my USANA supplements have given me an edge.
I share my personal experience, because I can understand why Manny Pacquiao as well as other USANA athletes have chosen USANA.
