There are a lot of people who look at the leaders in USANA and I think deep down inside they wonder if they are going to get to the level even though they are perfectly capable of doing so.
Why is this? Well, sometimes I think people feel that those people up on stage had a little luck, maybe they have talents that they don’t have, or maybe, just maybe they know that those people just worked harder and they know they need to work harder. If you are the example, then that’s good, because that is where you need to start.
One of the problems that I personally see with people is that they very involved in USANA: 1) They love the products, never miss a day; 2) They always attend convention; 3) Always attend weekly / monthly events, conference calls, webinars, and trainings. The problem is they never really build USANA. They think they are building USANA because so much of their life is USANA. I can understand that. The truth is they are “acting like they are building” USANA.
I think this is the number one reason why most people go to convention year in, year out in the same place income and rank and wonder why they are that way. Maybe they don’t wonder, but if they don’t, they should.
You need to love the products, attend convention, and when the weekly / monthly training doesn’t conflict with prospecting, attend those, but you also need to do business building activities.
Something we do in our Road To Gold Focus Groups and with our own downline is ask some questions:
1) Have you put all your contacts in the Integritas Group system?
If you haven’t put everyone you know in the system, you can’t build relationships with them in an organized way or if at all. We don’t tell people to just approach people about USANA without a reason. However, if you don’t talk to the people you know, you’ll never run across people who have a reason to hear about USANA.
2) How many days did you attempt to contact your people in your system until you had two meaningful conversations?
If you are not talking to people on a daily basis at least having a couple of meaningful conversations, then when are you ever going to hear anything that makes USANA an option for that person? You have to talk to people in order to grow USANA. That doesn’t mean you have to talk about USANA on every call, but if you are not making the habit of talking to people, then when will you ever grow USANA?
3) How many days did you accomplish the two meaningful conversations?
If you attempted #2 above and did it consistently, then great! But if the people we are mentoring are never getting to the conversations, then again...no USANA growth. How are you going to Develop (see Communication Training) relationships with conversations?
4) Did you designate your Target 2 in the last week?
Target 2 is taking the work you did in the past with meaningful conversations (#2 and #3) and actually making the decision, “I am going to Introduce (see Communication Training) USANA (product or business) to these two people this week..” This step can be harder to do if you have been talking to people are a daily basis, so you may be targeting people “out of the blue” and making it a weird USANA Introduction. But if you have had conversations in the recent past with your relationships, it makes a lot easier to target people especially if they have said something in past conversations that make USANA a great fit.
5) What else did you accomplish in the last week?
This is a downlines’ or Road To Gold Focus Group members’ opportunity to share other success.
6) What do you want to accomplish in the next week?
This is a downlines’ or Road To Gold Focus Group members’ opportunity to share what they plan to do the make this week better than the last week.
7) Have you reviewed the most recent Podcast / YouTube / Blog training from last week on Integritas Group & MLM Complete Package?
Weekly training and development and learning by going through training like this is very helpful to your long-term growth. It takes 15 to 20 minutes a week.
Many of our downline members and Road To Gold Focus Group members have said at times: “These questions suck, because when I fill them out, I feel like I haven’t done anything on my business.”
This is a good thing and the fact that they took the time to answer them and answer them honestly makes them a winner. Losers avoid them and run from them, because it exposes who really is building and who isn’t. Now if you aren’t doing the above and you sponsoring associates and customers left and right, then hey, you don’t need it, because you are already building the business. But if you aren’t growing your business at the level you want, you may need to go through questions like this on a weekly basis
