Should You Buy a USANA Prospect Into the Business?

Every USANA Associate has faced or gets faced with a situation where he has a great prospect, but the person is tight on money. The question of, “Should I buy this person into USANA to help him/her get going?” comes up.

My advice: No, don’t buy a person into the USANA business!

Why Not?

Generally, people don’t value what they don’t pay for. They have no skin in the game. If a person cannot afford (or is not willing to pay) $40 for the eBDS, do you think they are really going to put in the effort to build a big USANA business?

In the beginning of my USANA career, I bought a couple of people into the business. It ended being a waste of money.

Rather then buying someone into the business, offer an incentive instead. Examples of incentives:

  • Offer to put the next person you sponsor into his downline.
  • Let him stay with you free in your hotel at convention (who doesn’t want new Associates out to convention!).
  • Help to fund his business by giving a free HealthPak for him to sample.

If you’re in the position to help someone out, do it through incentives. Incentives have helped me sponsor more people and “get people off the fence.”
