Lead Generation: Why It's Important to Your USANA Business.

Lead generation can be the most important aspects of a growing USANA business. Actually, it’s required in any business. If you don’t have people that are interested in what you have, then you don’t have a business.  Common sense, right?  You would think it is, yet so many people fail to action on getting more people to speak with for their USANA business.

Lead generation is most productive in these ways:

1) Offline lead generation - These are people you know, run across, or referrals from others.

2) Online lead generation - These are people generated from specific marketing campaigns from your own website that is built around you. We all have a unique situation that we can market for product, service, or business. This is called personal branding.

3) Lead generation cooperatives - These are advanced marketing campaigns run by someone who is a genuine marketing expert and USANA leader.  These are great, because one person uses his or her expertise to generate leads for a group of people who buy “shares” into the campaign and then are given leads in equal amounts to the shares that they buy. By having people pool their money together, premium online advertising space can be purchased, which would normally be too expensive for an individual. For example, if you buy 10 shares and there are 100 shares in the cooperative, you would get 10% of the leads. So if the 100 shares generated 200 leads, you would get 20 leads.

You must have one of these, but we would recommend that at a minimum, a solid MLM organization should have training on the offline lead generation (we discuss this in our Communication course and Personal Endorsement Business and Personal Endorsement Customer courses) and a lead generation cooperative that you can buy into.  That way you don’t have to become a marketing expert to generate leads online (unless you want to), yet you can learn how to build in the offline world while speaking with online prospects from a lead cooperative. Our years of building USANA has taught us that people need multiple sources of leads and a high quality lead cooperative that they can plug into.

You may have heard of (or used in the past) lead generation vendors or lead generation companies. They often market their leads as “business opportunity” or “work from home” leads. Our advice: don’t spend a dime with them.  There was a time when these leads were good and we actually endorsed these for our own team, but that was then and this is now.

This is one of the main reasons we say that a solid USANA organization and opportunity should have at least a marketing cooperative for you to buy into, because having access to leads for you and your future downline needs to be easy, but lead companies aren’t the answer.  The leads are a terrible value.  You may pay less for each lead, but you will pay more in the long run, because the leads are terrible.

We have learned over the years that solid leaders take their business and their downline’s businesses in their own hands. Lead generation is probably the most important thing to take control of.  You cannot rely on lead vendors to build your business. They are bad news.  This is not a “politically-correct” statement, but it’s the truth.

Chris and I are working on a lead generation cooperative.  Many of you that have followed Integritas Group over the years have participated in our lead cooperatives we have done in the past.  We have many requests recently for us to generate leads again and so Chris and I are working on that project currently.  We will have something to roll out between end of USANA convention and September 1st.

Stay tuned!

  1. Are you sitting comfortably? In depth analysis of online lead generation can be an enriching experience. While it has been acknowledged that it has an important part to play in the development of man, several of todays most brilliant minds seem incapable of recognising its increasing relevance to understanding future generations.

  2. Lead generation is the practice of soliciting inquiries from potential customers. Traditionally lead generation occurred at places like trade shows, visitors to a company's booth would fill out a card with their contact information and turn it in to receive a call back from that company's sales team. Since the rise of the Internet, many businesses use their websites as a lead generation option.
