Hi Chris,
Jane (fictitious name) is in my downline but I didn’t recruit her (Another of my downline did). She had a FANTASTIC result with RESET and consequently signed up many Associates and Customers in about a 6 months timeframe. I got to know her during her first 6 months in the business, even went to where she lives to do some training. But alas, she did NO, NADA training with her downline and so consequently, HER (and my) downline went away within about a year (of course).
After she went inactive, I began including her downline in my monthly downline emails and she had a NASTY FIT. (I actually checked with Distributor Services and was told that I was entirely within my rights to reach out to them and that it was the right thing to do)
So, about 2 years have gone by and about 6 months ago, Jane texted me that she was ready to start her business again and needed my help. So cool, we had a great conversation, but nothing happened. In the past 6 months same thing happened about 2 more times. Then a couple of weeks ago, she texted me that 3 of her old distributors have contacted her about restarting their business and they want to get going themselves on RESET. Again, NOTHING HAPPENED since I replied to her text and answered her questions about what she had to do to reactivate.
Now, my problem is that I know Jane very well by now and realize that Jane has a big problem with procrastination and I accepted a long time ago, that the chances of her building a business were slim and non – with non winning out and that I was not going to pursue her as a business partner. BUT, I feel really bad and would love to help out those three inactive Distributors that are also in my downline. I don’t know who they are and don’t know what I would do if I knew which ones they were. BUT I don’t feel like it’s OK to just do nothing. Cause I really believe that Dr. Wentz and USANA can change peoples lives and everyone should have the opportunity to be involved if they want. And if someone has expressed an interest in building a business and using the products, those people shouldn’t be ignored.
So, you decide if this is a valuable conversation to have with the Team? If you decide it is, I’ll love to participate in the conversation.

Thanks for laying this out so clearly. Couple of clarifying things I need:
1) There's three people below her who want to get on the RESET again. How many people are below her all together? if it's a lot, how many people did she directly recruit?
2) Have you had any blunt conversations with her? Or made her work to meet goals to be worthy of your time?

1) She signed up 21 Associates in about 3-4 months (all doing RESET)
2) Yes, I have had blunt conversations with her. and I made the decision 3 years ago that I would no longer work (because she has such big psychological issues) with her, except where it came to supporting people in her downline.
I was hoping to have a conversation with her about why her business crashed before and what her thoughts are about how you successfully build a business that serves your downline. If she came up with 'DUPLICATABLE SYsTEM' , then I was hoping to show her and whoever else, IG3.0 and how it's light years ahead of anything we have seen before and how anyone who really takes the time to learn, will succeed if they follow the program.. But, that hasn't happened. I would make the effort to drive up there and present IG3.0 if there is someone who will listen and wants to learn.
My 'anguish' about this situation comes from the 3 'lapsed Associates' that want to start business again as well as get on RESET again. I really feel badly that they never had a chance to be successful cause the got NO TRAINING - AND NO SUPPORT. And, my opinion is that most of the people she signed up as Associates, should have been Preferred Customers. But as I said, I Don't know what 3 raised their hand to get started again. There were probably 5-10 in that group of 21 that had potential to build a business given some leadership.
She lives in a very small town and I'm an outsider and also about 40 years older than probably 2/3 of them. And, like a typical small town, there is a certain 'stick with our own' mentality. and to be completely honest with you, I most certainly probably did some things wrong in trying to provide some leadership 3-4 years ago, but I'm not going to beat myself up about that, cause I really don't know what it would be, and I did the best that I could at the time
If IG3.0 would have been available at the time with THE RESET PROGRAM, possibly there would have been very different results. Sometimes, very hard to redo time.and what happened
But, I am very aware that someone from outside (like you) could come up with a brilliant idea that I cant see because of my unpleasant experience with her..

You've done all the right things.
If I were in your shoes, here's what I would do:
1) Call all 21 Associates and see who you can reengage. Let them know you're starting a RESET group and making a bug push in USANA that way. You'll probably figure out the three Associates she has who interested in reactivating. Who knows, you may get a few more too!
2) Let your downline know what you're doing. You're not asking for her permission, you're just letting her know what you're doing in, in a nice way. Obviously she has a strength for sponsoring people. You have a strength for taking care of people and training them. Work towards both your strengths. Tell you plan on calling the team to touch base and just let them know you're there for support. Maybe your downline can talk you up to them as well and help you connect.
At this point, you're not going to turn your downline into someone who is a trainer. That's not good or bad... it's just the way it is.
3) Once you do all of this, you have to let the "anguish" and stress go. You can only do so much. At some point people at the other end need to meet you half way. If they are so against letting outsiders in, then there is NOTHING you can do about it. There mentality is what's causing their lack of success. It's NOT you.
If it takes off great. If it doesn't, then focus your efforts else where in building your business. The help and support you've given and extended to everyone is more than what most people in USANA, other MLMers' and life in general get.
